I am the proud parent of a 3 1/2 yr old daughter named Morgan. We live in the Dallas area and enjoy a wide mixture of activities.

Morgan's 3rd "Princess" Birthday Party.

Morgan is pretty much the motivation behind all I do.

Being a single father obviously has its challenges, but the rewards are innumerable.

I have always said I think I missed my calling as a sociological anthropologist and having a daughter has proved that time and time again. I never cease to be amazed at how she sees life, processes new information, and communicates her perspectives on it all.

If I ever had any doubt that God existed (which I don’t recall ever really having), Morgan has single handedly removed them all.

As you will see pretty quickly, I am addicted to information and even more so how to use that information to help people and businesses.

I read 35-50 magazines a month, books, comics, blogs… you name it. I love to smash ideas together and generate new companies from them.

There are very few things I enjoy as much as speaking and working in groups to equip and activate people to be their best!

I am the President of Riot Lounge which is a consulting firm specializing in delivering SME Marketing (Subject Matter Expert).

We combine our knowledge of influence and perception models learned from over a decade of film/TV experience with product development, image consulting, traditional advertising, and new tech to create solutions that last.

Our company’s motto is:

Simple – Sustainable – Scalable

I love my job and those I am fortunate enough to work with. I can’t remember the last day I felt like I was “working”.

Since I am such an info junkie, I am naturally a big believer in Social Media and other lesser known information models such as Peer Production and Crowd Sourcing.

I am an inventor,  filmmaker, author, speaker and futurist.

Directing during an obviously very tense scene.

My entire life people have told me to settle on one area because, they say, that is so much easier and would make me much happier.

While I have NO DOUBT that path would be much easier, I have seen its outcome for many others  and it did not prove to make them happier.

Instead I committed myself to creating a business incorporating all of my passions, interests,  and obsessions.

While it’s easy to say I always knew it would work, it wasn’t always so obvious.

Everyone has “Mentors”.

Some are greater than others; some only exist

for small periods of time. I have had the good pleasure of having both good and bad mentors. As a result, I have learned a life altering principle I call “Own Your Outcome”.

A quick interview with Dr. Jens Tomas after a MYB workshop in Germany.

I believe it is because of my family and our clients, both past and present, and the knowledge imparted to my company from many diversified fields that has lead us to this level of success.

Therefore I am eternally grateful to them.

1. My family – while it would take too long to explain in detail, I will just say there are many ways to teach life lessons. My parents have taught me the greatest of these while never giving up on their own struggles and NEVER losing faith and hope regarding their personal outcome.

2. Clients – We have been very fortunate to experience the level of success we have to date and to work with some of the most intellegent, innovative, and fearless indiviuals I have ever known.

I have been given much and I desire to give that back. I have dedicated my life to help people find their true passions, get out of their own way, and truly embrace what they have been “called” to do.

This blog marks my initial efforts to share my desire to do that…for as many people as will engage!

OFFICAL BIO

Damian Skinner Bio

Taken at the American Film Market in Santa Monica the day we signed the American Idol contract.

Damian Skinner began his career in the entertainment industry in 1998 working as an editor at Video Post & Transfer in Dallas. As a feature Editor, Damian cut Three Boys Named Mario and The Rain Makers. He also edited numerous television commercials and music videos.

In 2000, Damian left VPT to form his own production company, Realm Entertainment. Under Realm Entertainment, Damian produced a documentary Forgotten Wars: Raid on Limbang. Damian’s feature film directorial debut, Red Ridge, was acquired by ITN Distribution and garnered the New York Independent International Grand Jury Best Picture award as well as the Grand Jury Best Director award.

With an ever-growing affection for problem solving, Damian also began teaching small to medium sized businesses how to combine “big budget” studio marketing techniques with the grass roots tactics that had proved successful in marketing his own films.

In 2005, Damian founded Lucid Post to better service filmmakers in the south. Consolidating his companies with MPS, a Dallas-based production studio, Damian helped create the first turnkey independent studio in the south: Realm Studios.

Due to its success, Damian was able to sell Realm Studios to Global Vision Entertainment (GVE), a direct response distributor and media company with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.

Assuming the role as President of the newly formed Entertainment division, Damian attended the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and sat on many boards as an expert in business development. He was also awarded the highly coveted contract for the DVD sales and marketing of American Idol: Season 5.

Working closely with the technology division, Damian learned firsthand the Social Media methods used by major film & television studios to make sales. He also learned the techniques that allowed the viral marketing division to earn close to a million dollars a year and continue to thrive.

When GVE decided to move into the public sector, Damian parlayed his experience and knowledge and formed Riot Lounge, a business-consulting firm specializing in a “multi-prong” marketing methodology. Combining a unique blend of time-tested problem solving techniques with the latest in state of the art trend-tracking. With their primary focus remaining on SME marketing (subject matter expert – marketing) Riot Lounge has created powerful solutions for the Medical, Non-Profit, Agricultural, Real Estate, Retail, Licensing, Apparel, Manufacturing, Security, Automotive, and Advertising industries just to name a few.

Driven with an intense desire to assist as many business people as possible Damian and his long time business partner Jeff Niems launched , “Mogulize Your Business: Applying Hollywood’s Success Secrets to Your Business”. MYB is based on the principles Damian has been teaching businesses for over a decade, and serves as his primary theme as an international speaker and consultant.

Riot Lounge is currently enjoying its success as they have expanded into what Damian calls “importing and exporting experts” around the globe.
