Damian Skinner

I am a proud parent of a 2 1/2 yr old daughter named Morgan. We live in Dallas and love a wide mixture of activities.

I am addicted to information and even more so how to use that information to help people and businesses.

I read 35-50 magazines a month, books, comics, blogs you name it. I love to smash ideas together and generate new companies from them.

There are very few things I enjoy as much as speaking and working in groups to equip and activate people to be at their best!

I am the President of Riot Lounge which is a consulting firm that specializes in delivering solutions across any industry. Specifically in revenue generation, branding, product development and positioning.

Super Pouty

Super Pouty

I love my job and those I am fortunate enough to work with. I cant remember the last day that I felt like I was “working”.

Since I am such an info junkie I am naturally a big believer in Social Media and other less known information models such as Peer Production. In short, I want to talk to anybody at any time.

So don’t be shy and lets get to know each other!

OFFICAL BIO

Damian Skinner Bio

Damian Skinner began his career in the entertainment industry in 1998 working as an editor at Video Post & Transfer in Dallas. As a feature Editor, Damian cut Three Boys Named Mario and The Rain Makers. He also edited numerous television commercials and music videos.

In 2000, Damian left VPT to form his own production company, Realm Entertainment. Under Realm Entertainment, Damian produced a documentary Forgotten Wars: Raid on Limbang. Damian’s feature film directorial debut, Red Ridge, was acquired by ITN Distribution and garnered the New York Independent International Grand Jury Best Picture award as well as the Grand Jury Best Director award.

With an ever-growing affection for problem solving, Damian also began teaching small to medium sized businesses how to combine “big budget” studio marketing techniques with the grass roots tactics that had proved successful in marketing his own films.

In 2005, Damian founded Lucid Post to better service filmmakers in the south. Consolidating his companies with MPS, a Dallas-based production studio, Damian helped create the first turnkey independent studio in the south: Realm Studios.

Due to its success, Damian was able to sell Realm Studios to Global Vision Entertainment (GVE), a direct response distributor and media company with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.

Assuming the role as President of the newly formed Entertainment division, Damian attended the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and sat on many boards as an expert in business development. He was also awarded the highly coveted contract for the DVD sales and marketing of American Idol: Season 5.

Working closely with the technology division, Damian learned firsthand the Social Media methods used by major film & television studios to make sales. He also learned the techniques that allowed the viral marketing division to earn close to a million dollars a year.

When GVE decided to move into the public sector, Damian parlayed his experience and knowledge and formed Riot Lounge, a business-consulting firm specializing in a “multi-prong” marketing methodology. Combining a unique blend of time-tested problem solving techniques with the latest in state of the art trend-tracking, Riot Lounge has created powerful solutions for the Medical, Non-Profit, Agricultural, Real Estate, Retail, Licensing, Apparel, Manufacturing, Security, Automotive, and Advertising industries just to name a few.

Earlier this year, Damian was approached by a publisher in New York to create a book called, “Mogulize Your Business: Applying Hollywood’s Success Secrets to Your Business”. Based on the principles Damian has been teaching businesses for over a decade, the book is due to be released in 2010.
